Are you interested in book binding? Workshops can be tailored to any age group and time frame, adapted for schools, after school programs or senior centers. Workshops always include hands-on binding but can also include the history of book binding (and how it changed the world), cultural book forms, and book design with content. I have taught traditional Western bindings (pamphlet stitch, Coptic), Japanese stab bindings, accordion book forms and non-adhesive bindings. I would love to develop a workshop that fits a lesson plan or for students' specific interests. Please e-mail me to discuss planning a workshop in the New England area.Past workshops have included classes at the University of Southern Maine Summer Book Arts, Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Fiber College of Maine, Pleasant Mountain, Spindleworks, The Art Department, Providence Country Day School's World Arts Day, and with girl scout troups.
